Partnership Service

The Partnership Service was set up in 2001 to facilitate a more cohesive approach to partnership working between the Voluntary, Community & Faith Sector (VCFS), Blackburn with Darwen Borough Council and other public sector partner organisations. One of the Service's main duties is oversight of Blackburn with Darwen Community Network.

Community Network

Blackburn with Darwen Community Network supports and promotes partnership working between the VCFS and the partners of the Blackburn with Darwen Strategic Partnership.

This partnership approach aims to improve the quality of life and the local area by coordinating services, sharing resources and making a greater impact together.

About us

Blackburn with Darwen Community Network was established in November 2003 to bring more closely together the VCFS in the Borough.

The VCFS are now able to represent their views as an influential member of the Blackburn with Darwen Strategic Partnership.

Working in partnership provides benefits in both the short term and the long term for all the people of Blackburn with Darwen – and especially those who are marginalised in society and/or living in deprived neighbourhoods.

Four staff currently work for the Network and form the Partnership team:

They can all be contacted on 01254 583957 or email by clicking their name. They occupy the CVS Office in the St. John's Centre, Victoria Street, Blackburn BB1 6DW.

They are ably supported by administrative staff provided by the CVS who are the accountable body for the Network.

The Network is not constituted but is steered by volunteers from the VCFS who sit on the Community Network Board and the Community Network Executive. These same members also represent the VCFS on the Blackburn with Darwen Strategic Patnership.
