Below, you will find the application pack documents for the Grassroots grants programme. Please click on the documents to download.

Deadlines for 2010 are: -

  • 1pm on Friday 14th May (Round 6)
  • 1pm on Friday 19th August (Round 7)
  • 1pm on Friday 5th November (Round 8)

Applications received after these deadlines will not be considered.

Who is eligible to apply for a grant?

This grant programme is open to locally managed voluntary, community and faith groups within Blackburn with Darwen that are looking to make a positive difference within the Borough. The fund is financially supported by the Office of the Third Sector and the Blackburn with Darwen Local Strategic Partnership.

If your group is linked to a national organisation, you can apply if you are a local group or branch as long as the beneficiaries are from Blackburn with Darwen. Your group must be independent, have a local management committee, have a governing document and your own bank account.

What type of projects we will fund?

Projects that make a direct difference in Blackburn with Darwen by targeting one or more of the categories outlined in Themes 1-4 (these themes - Health & Well Being, Building Stronger & Safer Communities, Improve Local Ecomomy and Children & Young People - are directly linked to the Blackburn with Darwen Local Area Agreement 2008-09) will be considered. You will need to explain in Question 11 of the grant application form which of these categories you will be addressing and what funding from this programme will help you achieve this.
