Children Young People & Families Forum PDF

Who are we?

The Forum is made up of representatives from voluntary, community and faith organisations who work with children, young people and their families.

What do we do?

The Forum encourages:

  • Partnership

  • Collaboration

  • Co-operation

between Voluntary, Community and Faith Sector groups and the statutory sector. The Forum gives organisations and individuals the opportunity to share good practice as well as an insight into "what's going on" in the area.

Where we fit in

Why?

The VCFS has an important role to play in providing services for children, young people and their families. It is vital that this work is recognised and encouraged so that it can continue long term for local people.

The VCFS also has a vital part to play in the strategic planning of services with each organisation's experience and outlook playing an important role in this process.

The Forum acts as the consultative arm of the Sector so that strategic information can be circulated and opinions, thoughts and guidance can be fed back from the Forum (and hence the Sector as a whole) to the relevant organisations.

When do we meet?

The Forum meets once a month on Wednesday, between 10am and 12 noon. Venues do vary.

How do we get involved?

New members are always welcome. We would encourage all organisations, regardless of size, to join the Forum. Even if you cannot always attend meetings, we can add you to our mailing list to keep you updated on what's happening locally.
